What the Royals' Drink Orders Tell Us, According to Behavioral Experts

For whatever reason, we are all a little fascinated by what the Royal Family eats and drinks. From their bizarre food rules to what ordinary people eat in public, we like to pay attention to hints about their lifestyle (well, I certainly do, anyway).

On behalf of Coffee Friend (opens in new tab), behavioral expert Darren Stanton, speaking to Marie Claire, commented on the drinks most prominent royals often order, explaining that these very drinks speak volumes about their humanity. I have to admit, it's very interesting stuff. It was only after I wrote it that I realized it was a pun. Promise.

Ordering a decaffeinated coffee usually means there is a special reason to avoid caffeine.

"The concept of decaf indicates that the person is very restrained and aware that drinking too much coffee can be a problem. Nevertheless, by ordering decaf, one can enjoy a similar taste while greatly mitigating the effects of caffeine," says Stanton.

For experts, Middleton's coffee order illustrates the duality of her personality.

"Someone who chooses a specific coffee order with subtle tweaks as an option is also quite meticulous, likes precision, and knows what she wants. This may be indicative of Kate's assertiveness and her growth as a senior member of the royal family," says Stanton.

"The downside of latte drinkers is that their orders are considered fairly bland. There is little permutation, and for coffee lovers it is generally a basic starter-pack drink." This may suggest that Kate is not the most adventurous, however, for someone with a very busy schedule filled with daily routines, these simple and drinkable choices are perfect for the working mother."

It is well known that the queen prefers Earl Grey.

"Psychological studies suggest that those who prefer Earl Grey tea are associated with class and have more mature personalities," says Stanton.

"The Earl Grey of choice of older generations has fallen out of favor with the current hot drink trend. This sense of tradition matches the character and attitude of the queen as head of state," Stanton continues,

"More palatable than other teas, this distinctive flavor is associated with power and strength."

"With just tea, milk, and water, it is less complex than many coffees and symbolizes simplicity, assertiveness, and honesty.

It should come as no great shock that the Duchess of Sussex, who was born and raised in California and returned home, prefers cold-pressed vegetables.

"People who tend to consume weird and wonderful concoctions of juice are first and foremost thinking about their health and well-being. And while there is no disputing that certain fruits and vegetables in smoothies are beneficial, sometimes these personalities tend to be more particular than others," Stanton explains.

"There are elements that seem more impressive these days, mostly because of the pressed juice craze and the 'Instagrammable' approach to life. [But sometimes juicing with fresh fruit and no additives is the wiser choice. That's right.

British-born Harry is not opposed to trying something new from time to time. [33] [34] "According to reports a few years ago, Prince Harry enjoyed regular white coffee before moving to California and switching to juice," says Stanton. This switch is a good example of the cultural shift from the UK to the US, as well as the modern drinker who doesn't want to be set in his ways when there are so many options on the market." "This is similar to being open-minded and versatile. "The California lifestyle and the influence of his wife may also play a role in this." "It represents a change and separation from his royal duties in London compared to his new life in America."

We don't know if the classic breakfast tea is actually the Duke of Cambridge's preference, but he does seem to enjoy a cup of tea.

"Prince William's favorite hot beverage has not been revealed, but he has been spotted drinking several cups of breakfast tea during the engagement. It is a no-fuss, very open to suggestion type of drink, not because of the flavor, but rather the goodwill gesture it receives to establish a rapport with the person who makes it," says Stanton.

"As a personality, drinking a regular breakfast tea suggests stability and consistency, not for the less risk-taking. This is consistent with Kate's decaf tea, something that makes them compatible, and their choice seems largely made in keeping with their roles as royalty, to whom they continue to devote the most time and effort in their lives."

"Basic breakfast tea is a drink that makes great friends and partners." "What you see is what you get."

Prince Charles' favorite hot beer looks kinda tasty, to be honest.

"According to reports, Prince Charles likes to drink Darjeeling tea with honey," says Stanton.

"This means he has a personality that is not afraid to take risks to get what he wants, given that Darjeeling is a more spicy preference. The honey is an attempt to soften the bitterness of the tea, a cover for the true flavor.

"It is thought to have many medicinal properties, including boosting the immune system and calming the mind and body from stress. Because of its relaxing effect on the drinker, the person who chooses Darjeeling is a big thinker with creative ideas, a calculating individual who can analyze situations without making rash decisions.

Who knew that a cappuccino could describe a person's personality so well?

"Camilla was once photographed drinking a cappuccino in Italy.

"A cappuccino drinker is a demanding personality. A cappuccino drinker is a very demanding personality. However, they are not reckless; they are just more adventurous than others. They generally stay within certain parameters, so people tend to trust them.

"Cappuccino drinkers can be somewhat particular and oversensitive when it comes to the more personal aspects of their lives, especially when it comes to publicity. Interesting.
