On Prince William's 40th Birthday, the Queen Already Has Big Plans

The Queen's platinum jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne, the longest in British history, kicks off this weekend. But while some may be worried about how the festivities will affect the 95-year-old queen, don't be: she's already planning her next big party.

That's because her grandson and future King of England, Prince William, will be celebrating his own milestone this year. Following in the footsteps of Kate, who celebrated her own 40th birthday last month by unveiling three gorgeous portraits, William will turn 40 on June 21, and the Queen is reportedly already making plans. According to the [Mirror], royal expert Chris Andersen told Us Weekly that the queen has "big things planned" for William this year. Andersen, author of the book "Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan," said, "The Queen is planning something big for William, and William is going to open something. If Covid allows such a thing, there will be another big party."

As for what that something might be, we may have to wait. It is likely to be a departure from Kate's birthday celebration, which was low-key. (Prince William and his children, George (8), Charlotte (6), and Louis (3), reportedly held a private, small dinner party at Kate's request.)

The couple's birthday party is expected to be a "private, intimate affair.

But even though the Queen has worked hard for the Platinum Jubilee, the fact remains that there are still many more parties to come during the rest of the year. Hopefully we will be invited too.
