Britney Spears Scores $15 Million Book Deal to Write All-Confessional Memoir

Britney Spears finally got the chance to tell "The Story of a Girl Named Britney."

Spears, as a young star, first appeared on The Mickey Mouse Club and then on... . became a celebrity in her own right with the release of Baby One More Time, and endured years of being torn apart.

In 2008, Spears was placed under her father's conservatorship, and her life took a turn for the worse from then on, with the help of a defense attorney, who was responsible for making most of her financial, professional, and even personal decisions for her daughter.

In November 2021, Spears' life in conservatorship finally came to an end for good, and all the hardships Starr had to go through during that time were removed (although her relationships with various family members remain strained, to say the least).

Now we can look forward to a book written by Britney Spears - though not the murder mystery novel she teased in October (unless it's all one big metaphor).

"Page Six" first reported that Spears had signed a $15 million deal with Simon & Schuster to publish a tell-all memoir. One source told the magazine, "The deal is one of the largest ever, second only to the Obamas. The contract was reportedly the result of a bidding war.

Neither the publisher's nor Spears' representatives have directly released the news or responded to requests for comment, but outlets such as Variety and People have independently confirmed Page Six's report.

This follows the recent publication of Spears' sister Jamie Lynn's own memoir, in which the "Toxic" singer addressed a cease-and-desist letter to the Zoey 101 actress, calling the claims in the book "false or fanciful complaints."
