Princess Diana looked "uncomfortable and defensive" during engagement photo shoot, body language expert says.

Sadly, everyone knows that Princess Diana and Prince Charles' marriage was not a happy one. But according to body language expert Darren Stanton, there were warning signs from the beginning, starting with their engagement photos.

The expert commented on a series of official photos taken 41 years ago, on February 24, 1981: "The photos were taken in the middle of the night, on the day of the wedding, on the day of the wedding, on the day of the wedding.

"The mind and body are inseparable, and what we are thinking is often revealed by our body posture and gestures," Stanton explained to Marie Claire on behalf of Slingo (opens in new tab). 5] and the official engagement photos show that this level of attention was obviously very difficult for her, all for the first time"

.

For Stanton, Charles' demeanor in the photographs tells an entirely different story.

"But Charles is used to being in the public eye, and the expressions he shows in the photos don't seem to match the emotions he is trying to convey," he says.

"Unlike Princess Diana, who is used to having her picture taken, we think Charles is just going with the flow."

The soon-to-be princess was clearly in a position to betray her discomfort.

"Diana appears nervous, and in some of the pictures she is shown with her arms against her chest in a so-called self-reaffirming hug," Stanton explains. 15]

"This posture tends to be taken by people who feel uncomfortable in their environment, and Diana is nervous, suggesting that she was quite frightened by the amount of attention she was receiving."

The "Diane's attitude was that she was not comfortable in her own environment, and that she was not comfortable in her own environment.

And that's not the only sad detail visible in the photos - Stanton also suggests that Diana's costumes felt unnatural to her.

"This can be seen in the outfit Diana is wearing. The royal blue suit she wore when announcing her engagement to Charles may have been an iconic 80s outfit, but it was not all Diana."

"The high neckline and long skirt may have followed royal protocol, but it seems a little too formal and common-sense for her taste. It would have been an "appropriate" choice for Princess Diana to wear on an official occasion, but she looks uncomfortable and defensive when wearing it, and I don't think she enjoys being in the spotlight herself.

But it seems that the spotlight was not the only thing Diana did not like.

"As for Charles, he seems very calm and, not surprisingly since he is on the grounds of Buckingham Palace, he lacks emotional sincerity - this is evident by the fact that his face does not look fully engaged.
