Harry and Meghan and William and Kate express support for Ukraine

As Russia invaded Ukraine, both the Cambridges and the Sussexes stood by their country and issued messages of support.

Prince Harry and Princess Meghan Markle issued a statement on the Archewell website on Thursday condemning the invasion, saying, "Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and all of us at Archewell stand with the people of Ukraine against this violation of international and humanitarian law stood with them and urge the international community and its leaders to do the same," he wrote.

On Saturday, Prince William and Kate Middleton took to Twitter to express their support for the country in the midst of turmoil. They wrote: "In October 2020, we had the privilege of meeting President Zelensky and the First Lady and learning of their hope and optimism for Ukraine's future. Today, we stand with the President and all Ukrainians who are bravely fighting for that future." They signed the tweet "W & C" (a nickname for William and Catherine) and included an emoji of the Ukrainian flag.

Also, although the Queen has not yet spoken publicly about the ongoing events, PEOPLE reports that she has postponed a diplomatic reception scheduled for March 2 in Windsor during the crisis, on the advice of the British Foreign Secretary.
