Read MoreHope this news brightens your day a little: Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, sixth in line to the British throne, spent the weekend at a rodeo in Fort Worth, Texas.
But the prince didn't just show up; he fully integrated himself into the spirit of the event. He was photographed wearing cowboy boots and a green cowboy hat (from Overland (open in new tab) for reference), chatting with the people of the day (presumably the event staff).
"Living the best American life," tweeted royal author Omid Scobie.
"Prince Harry was in Fort Worth, Texas this weekend and spent Saturday at the historic @cowtowncoliseum for the famous @StockyardsRodeo. The Duke was spotted by locals enjoying good old southern hospitality and a VIP tour of the venue."According to People, Stockyards secretary Cindy Reed wrote in a photo, "Where was Prince Harry Saturday night? I love it! Thanks for coming!
Melton Bull Co. said in a now-deleted photo, "Prince Harry hanging out at the rodeo this week . Lots of rodeo royalty come to the rodeo, but I've never seen the prince before. He was going to join the bull riding, but the airline lost his equipment bag. ......"
Hilarious, classic British humor.
Darren Stanton, a body language expert, believes Prince Harry made a special effort to blend in with the event and not make his boots too big.
"It was really lovely to see Prince Harry, in his trademark cowboy-style hat and shirt with rolled up sleeves, engaging and interacting with the other attendees while out in Texas," Stanton, representing Betfair Casino (opens in new tab) told Marie Claire.
"The body language we show is not always a clue to how we feel and think. The fact that Harry seemed content and comfortable wearing the same clothes as the other invited guests suggests that he is very comfortable in his own skin. He is a humble character who does not rest comfortably on his royal connections."
The duke makes a conscious effort to appear the friendly boy-next-door type, not because he doesn't consider himself an ordinary man, but simply because royalty is not expected to be super-sober.
"By attending with a dress code similar to others, Harry can nonverbally convey that he is an approachable person, as well as an opportunity to build rapport," Stanton adds. And because Harry didn't distance himself, he demonstrates trust and confidence in those around him." Instead, he takes pleasure in immersing himself in his work and is not afraid to roll up his sleeves, figuratively or physically, as his mother, Princess Diana, did.
"Going it alone in Texas demonstrates Harry's growing confidence during his stay in the U.S. You did it.
