Prince William accompanies Princess Charlotte to a pizza party for her friend's birthday.

The Royal Family is into doing normal people things. Even those who live between the royal palace and Getty Images are not exactly Netflixing or Chill ("Chill" literally means "chill.") Or the fact that the Sussexes reportedly can't get enough of In-n-Out burgers.

What all of this means, thankfully, is that the royal children are not being raised on a simple fish-only diet like their great-grandmothers, nor are they being raised on a diet of lobster and caviar only, as my peanut brain conjures up when I hear the words "royal food" That is to say.

It is against this backdrop that Princess Charlotte recently visited the pizzeria Il Pagliaccio in Fulham, London ("The Clown," not "The Palace," as it is called).

The Italian newspaper La Stampa published a video of Prince William accompanying his daughter to the restaurant. According to the Daily Mail, he then returned to pick up his daughter. In other words, it is typical of a normal father. However, this would not be news at all if the royal family did not expect the nanny to do all this. It is truly wonderful that the Cambridges value these everyday opportunities to spend time with their children.

By the way, Princess Charlotte apparently gave her friend a large pink paper-wrapped gift.

Restaurant owner Theo Catino revealed that he shook hands with the Duke and boldly asked for a selfie (which the royal apparently declined).

Another nice detail of this story is that Princess Diana loved Il Pagliaccio. She would always stop by my store with her bodyguards when she returned from exercising at the gym not far from here and order a margherita and a salami pizza. Then she would go home and eat it with her two children."
