Amanda Bynes' conservatorship officially ends after nearly nine years

Amanda Bynes was released from nearly nine years of conservatorship under the legal control of her parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes.

The Amanda Shaw star was placed under temporary conservatorship by her mother in 2013 and was placed under full conversation in 2014 after drug use issues, according to People.

Entertainment Weekly noted that unlike in the case of Britney Spears' conservatorship battle, Amanda's release was swift and without significant obstacles.

The actress's parents, through her attorney Tamar Arminak, released the following statement to EW:" Lynn is very proud of Amanda and her progress and looks forward to having a mother-daughter relationship with Amanda outside of conservatorship."

In addition to her fragrance line, Amanda is busy studying at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and considering moving in with her fiancé, Paul Michael. She is not thinking about returning to acting at the moment.
