Zoe Kravitz, James Corden, Jim Carrey, and others react to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock

Will Smith's tasteless joke about Jada Pinkett Smith at the Academy Awards ceremony, where he slapped Chris Rock for making fun of her, is now a hot topic. Your office is probably still abuzz with hot takes and your mother probably called you about it.

Celebrities, many of them including Mr. and Mrs. Smith, have weighed in on the case, proving once again that they are, in fact, just like us. One thing is certain: the room is extraordinarily divided. Here are some of the celebrities' comments.

The Bruce Almighty actor had the strongest words about the incident, as he appeared on "CBS Morning.

"It made me sick," he told Gayle King. 'I was sickened by the standing ovation. I felt like Hollywood had all together turned into a bunch of wimps. I felt like it was a clear sign that we were no longer a cool club." [On Chris Rock not pressing charges:

"He doesn't want to get in trouble," Carey hypothesized. Because that video will be around forever. Because that video will stay forever... Just because someone goes up on stage and says a word doesn't give you the right to slap him in the face."

Carey felt that Will Smith's actions were selfish and unacceptable, especially at an awards ceremony.

"It was a dark cloud over everyone's shining moment last night. So many people worked really hard to get to that place, to have their moment in the sun."

Liam Payne, of One Direction fame, raised many eyebrows with his impassioned comments.

"Whatever he feels he did, I believe he's entitled to it. I also felt there were three losers in one fight," he told Good Morning Britain of Will Smith. 'He didn't know he was Chris Rock. He didn't know he was Chris Rock. And she didn't do anything.

Payne's conclusion: "We're all very human, aren't we?"

Butt: "Yes, we are.

The Batman star shared a photo of her stunning ribboned pink gown at the Oscars on Instagram, writing, "Here's a picture of my dress from the awards show where I'm apparently attacking people on stage right now." Ugh.

The One Tree Hill actress blasted both Will Smith and Chris Rock on Twitter. 'Violence is not ok. 'Assault is never the answer. This is the second time Chris has made fun of Jada on stage at the #Oscars. 'It's wrong to hit someone with an autoimmune disease. It's cruel to do that on purpose, we both need a breather."

During an appearance on The Late Late Show, the host very clearly took Chris Rock's side.

"That whole event drove me very crazy. It completely ruined my chances at the Oscar pool. I Dame Judi Dench beat Woody Harrelson," Corden quipped. 'Seriously, I applaud Chris Rock for getting back on his feet and carrying on with the show. It was an incredibly dignified response. I will say this: Will Smith can't take a joke. Chris Rock can take a punch." [Will Smith said, "Not Today." Chris slapped him so gently he could barely move, don't blame Will here after two years of telling him to defend #BlackWoman. Come on..."

Will and Jada's son Jaden, apparently in defense of his father, simply tweeted, "And That's How We Do It."

The "50 First Dates" actor never had anything to say about the Academy Awards event, but his Instagram promotion of Chris Rock's standup tour was a little too timely not to be sidetracked. He said, "Can't wait to see you guys. Love you, buddy!" Sandler wrote.
