The coverage of the Royal Family's diet sounds tedious, to be honest. They have to follow many rules, like not eating seafood or potatoes in public.

The Queen herself is by no means an adventurous eater: she hates onions and garlic, and her favorite foods (cereal, marmalade toast, fresh fish and vegetables) are puritanical, to say the least.

However! Thankfully, Elizabeth II has at least one fun food in her diet: she's obsessed with the chocolate life.

"The queen was definitely a chocoholic and loved dark chocolate," former royal chef Darren McGrady revealed in an interview with Coffee Friend (opens in new tab).

"I used to make a dark chocolate mousse, mousse au chocolat et café. So it was often on the menu at Buckingham Palace."

"I also used to make coffee mousse. At the banquets where the Queen entertained, the most popular dessert was an ice cream bombe. I made a bombe glace coppélia, which was coffee ice cream stuffed with praline and decorated with whipped cream and coffee beans". Amazing. Oh my God.

And honestly, if you search the Internet for available images, you can imagine that Her Majesty the Queen is a sucker for chocolate. The look on her face when she is presented with chocolate confections is absolutely priceless. But don't take my word for it.
