Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly moving to Windsor this summer to join the Queen

A bit of a royal reshuffle is now underway.

The Queen, who has been spending more and more time at Windsor Castle rather than Buckingham Palace, has announced that Berkshire Manor will be her principal official residence.

In addition, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who have been traveling between Kensington Palace in London and Anmer Hall in Norfolk in recent years, will reportedly join Her Majesty the Queen at Windsor this summer.

According to The Sun, they are now considering a private home rather than the royal-owned Fort Belvedere or Frogmore House. They are also not renting an apartment at Windsor Castle itself.

The Cambridges are also looking at schools for their children, not only in Berkshire but also in neighboring counties such as Buckinghamshire and Surrey.

The royal couple is rumored to prefer Lambrook School in Ascot (Berkshire) for Prince George, but other sources say they prefer Marlborough College (where Kate Middleton once attended). Note that these are all just rumors.

Nevertheless, there is some truth to the claim that the Cambridges are planning to move to Windsor; as early as November, there was already speculation that a move was near.

Royal family expert Jonathan Sacerdoti told the Express at the time that.

"The Queen has had quite a difficult year, losing Prince Philip. She is definitely feeling the loneliness of losing her husband, which I'm sure a lot of people know," Sacerdoti added.

"It would certainly help in that regard if William and Kate moved closer to the queen.

It was also said at the time that Windsor would be more convenient for the country-loving Cambridges than Norfolk, which is several hours from London and a difficult commute.

In February, there were more rumors that the royal couple would be moving to the Berkshires, and it was noted that Middleton had grown up there.
