Prince William and Kate Middleton miss Brooklyn Beckham's wedding

You have to be pretty high up on the A-list to get a royal wedding invitation, but it seems you have to be even higher up to have your own wedding invitation accepted by the royals. At least, that is what Prince William and Kate Middleton did when they declined Beckham's invitation to the wedding.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge invited David and Victoria Beckham (themselves a royal couple) to their wedding in 2011, and Posh and Becks attended. So when the wedding invitations went out for their sons Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz, their royal friends were of course invited. While parents often include their own friends on wedding guest lists, these friends are usually not heirs to the throne.

Unfortunately, the Cambridges were unable to attend this time. According to a source to the Daily Mail, Prince William declined the Beckhams' wedding invitation with a polite note saying, "We wish them great joy, but are unable to attend." [The Beckhams also attended the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, the Mail's sources dismiss the idea. "David's attachment and history goes back to William and Kate." It was always about them and never about Meghan and Harry."
