Meghan Markle to attend Prince Harry's Invictus Games in the Netherlands?

Prince Harry has been visiting the UK since leaving his royal duties with Meghan Markle, but the Duchess of Sussex has not left the Americas since March 2020.

The Duchess will make her first trip back to Europe with the Duke for the Invictus Games in the Netherlands on April 16-22. A spokesman for the Sussexes told Vanity Fair that Markle will attend the "first couple of days" of the event.

The Duke of Sussex founded the Invictus Games in 2014. The Invictus Games are a series of Olympic-like sporting competitions in which wounded and sick soldiers from 20 countries participate. This year's games will be held in The Hague, Netherlands; they were originally scheduled for 2020 but were postponed due to a pandemic.

Also new this year is a partnership with Better Up, a mental health startup for which Prince Harry serves as Chief Impact Officer. 'The Invictus Games is about empowering each and every one of us around the world. The Invictus Games is a global showcase of resilience, determination, and community from which each of us can draw inspiration," Royal said in a press statement.

"For the Invictus Games Foundation, there is no more fitting new partner than mental fitness platform Better Up. The mind is like a muscle that needs to be honed, trained, rehabilitated, and coached.

"The men and women I have served with understand this and the Invictus community knows this. I am honored to bring the work we do at Better Up to Invictus and look forward to expanding the support system that service members and veterans rely on to accomplish amazing feats."
