Prince Harry says: "America is home now.
Prince Harry, who spoke this week at the Invictus Games in The Hague, Netherlands, is only six hours away from his native London. It is across the water from Europe in Montecito, California, where he has built a life for the past two years with his wife Meghan and their children, Archie, almost 3, and Lili, 10 months old.
"Home for me now, for the time being, is America," he told Today's Hoda Kotb, joking that his preference for the California lifestyle "is sure to be a thing" across the pond, according to Page Six - though he added, "Two kids, Archie and Lilibet," the magazine writes, "could not deny the impact of his life with them.
Despite global conflicts like the war in Ukraine, Harry is "very peaceful, but with all that is going on in the world ......" in Montecito.
In California, where his wife Megan was born and raised, he admits that he is "welcomed with open arms and has a great community in Santa Barbara."
Nevertheless, as a father of two, he admits that it's not all perfect. "Archie spends more time interrupting our Zoom calls than anyone else, but he also gets them off as well, so that's handy," he told Kotb.
As for missing his family in England? The Duke of Sussex asked, "For most people, especially in the last two years, have they not missed their families?
Tensions may be growing with some of his family, but Harry just adores his grandmother, the Queen, who visited Windsor Castle last week with Meghan.
"We have a really special relationship," he said of the Queen, adding that he and Meghan had tea together and were happy to see her. We talk about things she wouldn't be able to talk about with anyone else."
As for the disappearance of his brother Prince William, who was out of the country skiing during Harry's visit, "It's a total coincidence," a source told Us Weekly. 'Harry plans to return soon and hopes to meet William in person. Harry and Meghan were reunited with the Queen and had a wonderful time. Harry and Meghan were reunited with the Queen and had a wonderful time.
And as special as the Queen and other members of the Royal Family are to Harry, his focus right now is on California and his own family that he is raising there.
"My sort of daily mantra right now is that I'm trying to make the world a better place for my children," Page Six magazine reported.
