Prince George reportedly "experiencing" a new school near Windsor.
The Cambridges are preparing to move to Windsor, possibly as early as this summer. The latest step toward that goal is to enroll Prince George in a new school near Windsor on a trial basis, the Daily Express reports. According to one source, Prince George visited the new school and had a "familiarization trial class" arranged by a teacher.
The name of the school was not disclosed, but "the facility is said to be one his parents have visited half a dozen times," the Express reports, and "school staff were amused that the other children in the class did not recognize the young prince and understand his royal status, They were relieved," the report said.
The school is also "said to be attended by students from wealthy European and Russian families" and is not as high-profile as other schools that have been attended by royals. Incidentally, George's father, Prince William, attended Radgrove School in Berkshire, and George's mother, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, attended Marlborough College.
Today, George and his sister Princess Charlotte attend Thomas School in Battersea, where George and Charlotte are "treated like other children while at school" and therefore do not use royal titles, attending as George and Charlotte Cambridge. (The same was true of his father William and uncle Prince Harry when they were students, who went by William Wales and Harry Wales.)
In addition to sending George to this new school, the Mail on Sunday reported that Charlotte and her brother Prince Louis will also likely attend the same school. The fact that Prince Louis, who turned 4 yesterday, is due to start school in September may have something to do with the growing search to settle on a school, as "HELLO!" reports that the school the Cambridges are most interested in may be Lamoureux, and that "in February, the royal couple were particularly impressed with this independent preparatory school. reportedly impressed with the school."
The news of George's trial enrollment comes on the heels of reports that the Cambridges are considering a move to Windsor, with plans "rapidly underway," and that not only do they want to be near Her Majesty the Queen, but William and Kate want their three children before William takes the throne The family is currently living in London's Kennedy Square, where they have been living for the past three years. The family currently divides their time between Kensington Palace in London and Anmer Hall, a country house in Norfolk.
