In the Year of the Jubilee, the Queen Commits to Fighting Climate Change
One issue that the royal family has consistently supported for decades is environmental welfare.
That is why it makes sense for Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate the landmark Platinum Jubilee year by launching an eco-conscious initiative.
On Earth Day, April 22, the Queen's Green Canopy unveiled the design for a giant wooden sculpture to be installed outside Buckingham Palace via its own social media and that of the royal family; the QGC, according to its Instagram bio, "is a new initiative to celebrate the Queen's platinum jubilee, which will be the first of its kind in the world. a UK-wide tree planting initiative to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022, calling on people to "plant a tree for the Jubilee."
The Royal Family wrote on Instagram:
"On #EarthDay, @queensgreencanopy revealed the design for the 'Tree of Trees' sculpture to be created outside Buckingham Palace for the #PlatinumJubilee celebrations in June. [The sculpture will depict 350 native British trees, which will then be presented to community groups and organizations.
"The Queen's Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative created to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, with over one million trees already planted in the first planting season. Tree planting will begin again in October and continue through the end of the Jubilee year.

This means that not only will we be able to view this majestic tree sculpture prior to the Jubilee celebrations, but it will also benefit the planet.
The late Prince Philip was a leading advocate for environmental protection and is credited with saving an entire species from extinction. Prince Charles has been working for environmental protection for decades before it became mainstream, and his two sons, William and Harry, continue to work for a healthier planet. Thus, environmental protection runs in the family.
