Blake Lively to Wear Color-Changing Gown to the 2022 Met Gala

Blake Lively rarely disappoints in red carpet fashion, but she brought the drama to the 2022 Met Gala, which she co-chaired this year with Regina and Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with husband Ryan Reynolds.

Lively arrived on the red carpet in a rust-brown Atelier Versace tulle column dress with crystal and leather embroidery, a tiara, and opera-length gloves. As she climbed the Met's iconic staircase, she removed the dress' oversized ribbon to reveal a stunning blue-green train. She also removed her gloves, revealing the matching green pair underneath.

E! reports that Lively's gown for her "Gilded Glamour" evening paid homage to the architecture of New York City, with its silhouette and metallic touches reminiscent of the Empire State Building, the gown's color an "oxidized" shade of the Statue of Liberty evocative, and her train is covered in a hand-painted foil constellation that mimics the ceiling of Grand Central. Of the look, the 34-year-old told a red carpet reporter: "I patinated. I arrived in copper, but I patinaed it, like the architecture of New York."

She added: "It was a very simple look.

Of course, we should not forget that her date, Ryan Reynolds, was wearing Ralph Lauren. While he did not change outfits in front of us, he did a fantastic job of staying out of the way of my wife's train.
