Meghan Markle Tries to 'Prove Herself' Through New Podcast, Royal Experts Say
According to one royal author and marketing expert, the British public has somewhat lost interest in the comings and goings of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. For Pauline McLachlan, Meghan Markle's upcoming podcast, "Archetypes," may be a great way to regain people's attention in a significant way. [McLellan, professor of marketing and consumer studies at Royal Holloway University of London and author of "Surely in Britain, People Are Rather Frustrated with the Royal Family: The Royal Family in Consumer Culture" (opens in new tab) McLellan, professor of marketing and consumer studies at Royal Holloway University of London, told the Express.
"Princess Meghan's 'Archetypes' series is supposed to come out soon, but with so much anticipation [for the podcast], nothing seems to have been produced yet," she added.
"But I think they definitely need something that will prove themselves in a more tangible way, in a way. That they can be successful." [Because they seem to be more popular in the U.S. [Also, they don't seem to be classified as A-list celebrities. So the jury is out there."
McLellan believes that the release of "Archetypes" is a wise next step for the Duchess." If the "Archetypes" series comes out, this will pack a punch," she says.
She also explained that it would be great for Markle to go solo on this project. Megan is an independent woman and will be anxious to prove herself on her own."

"Archetypes" was teased for March, but no official Spotify release date has been set yet. The piece aims to "dissect, explore, and overturn labels that seek to bind women," one of the Duchess's larger causes.
Markle's Netflix animated series "Pearl," which was based largely on the empowerment of girls, was unfortunately cancelled.
