Prince William sends heartfelt message to British soccer player who came out as gay.

Jake Daniels, a professional soccer player for Blackpool Football Club in northern England, recently made headlines in the United Kingdom for his courageous decision to come out as gay by posting an open letter on the club's website.

In response, Prince William sent a heartfelt message of support to the player on social media. He wrote, "Soccer should be a game for everyone."

"What Jake has done is courageous and will hopefully help break down barriers that don't exist in our society.

"I hope his decision to speak candidly will give others the confidence to do the same. w"

Daniels himself stated in his letter that his decision was due in part to other athletes who came out before him.

"But I have been inspired by athletes in other sports, such as Josh Cavallo, Matt Morton, and Tom Daley, to have the courage and determination to make the change."

And as the Duke of Cambridge says, Daniels also hopes that people like him will be able to speak up. 'I've always hated lying and felt the need to change in order to fit in. By doing this, I want to be a role model myself," he writes.

"There are people in the same space as me who feel uncomfortable revealing their sexuality. I want to tell those people that they don't have to change who they are or how they are in order to fit in."

In an interview with Sky Sports, Daniels admitted that trying to hide who she is has affected her mental health.
