Prince William hosted his third and final garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace on behalf of his grandmother, the Queen.

At the prince's side were his wife, Kate Middleton, and his uncle and aunt, the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

Well, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a dress with a high neck and a waistline that was actually at the waist, rather than the empire line favored by young women of the Regency era, but "otherwise" there was no difference.

Even more inclined to Bridgerton's recreation was the Duke of Cambridge in the full morning dress required for a royal garden party. He wore a long jacket, double-breasted vest, tie, and top hat, and gazed lovingly at his wife:
