Princess Diana would not have allowed William and Harry to divorce, says former butler

For years, Prince William and Prince Harry seemed like best friends. They lost their mother, Princess Diana, at a young age, and their relationship with their father, Prince Charles, is reportedly complicated.

That is why it is so sad to see them apart like this since Harry moved to the US with his family in 2020. It is widely understood that the siblings have not gotten along at all over the past two years, and Kate Middleton had to intervene on one of the few occasions when the siblings were reunited to mend fences.

Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former butler, was OK about how the Princess felt about these quarrels between her sons! "She would have been heartbroken. 'If Princess Diana was still here, it wouldn't have been so bad. She would have smacked her sons on the head."

And, according to Burrell, if they had, they would have listened. 'She's probably the only one who could have done that. Had Diana been here, [the rift] would not have happened." [The royal source also recalled how bonded the two siblings were as children and explained how shocking it was to witness them drift apart like this. 'I don't understand how two people can be so far apart. I can't wrap my head around it,' he said. [I have watched those boys grow up. They consulted each other about everything. When Princess Diana died, I thought they were going to be inseparable."

"I'm so glad they're together.

Thankfully, William and Harry are reportedly video chatting ahead of the Jubilee weekend in an attempt to repair their relationship.

However, Burrell does not believe that Harry will be completely satisfied with life in California (of course, this is just one outside opinion, and the Duke of Sussex should be free to make his own life decisions).

"Trying to revive his life by playing polo in Santa Barbara won't work," Burrell says OK! "Not at the Guard Polo Club in Windsor. (Prince Harry has been playing with his wife Meghan Markle for the past week.)

"What kind of friends is he going to find in California?" He didn't grow up with anyone there.

"I mean, he's kind of bold to assume that no one could be happy away from home," but from what he knows about Harry, Burrell seems to think that Harry will need his birth family around him in the future.

"Harry is going to need his brother someday. 'I think he will come back to this country with his tail between his legs. His brother will put his arm around him and say, 'Welcome back, Harry.'"

"I don't think he's entirely happy. I think he misses his brother. He lost his family, he lost his friends, he lost his lifestyle here in England. I think he gave up everything for Meghan.

Burrell also believes it is a two-way street and that Prince William is likely as upset about the separation as his baby brother is.

"He must be thinking about Harry every day. 'He must be thinking about Harry every day. They went through the same turmoil and tragedy. The only thing they could really count on was each other."
