Blake Lively says she feels most confident in her body after having a baby
Looking at the glamorous red carpet looks of celebrities, it's easy to forget that celebrities have insecurities, too. Yes, that includes award-winning actress and fashion icon Blake Lively.
In a recent Forbes interview, Lively admitted how having a child has put things in perspective for her and instilled more confidence than ever before. Before giving birth to her first child, she told the magazine that she had grown frustrated with her acting work and felt she did not have enough say in what the final product would look like.
"Once I had kids, it went deeper because my time was more precious," she said (via Harper's Bazaar).
"But I think having a child has made me feel more in my own skin. I've never felt more like myself, more at peace with my body, more confident, and I'm not saying I don't have anxiety that comes over me a million times a day, but it's incredibly calming."
Her children helped her understand how much she wanted to prioritize projects she believed in. She added, "I think growing up, having kids, all those things made me feel like I only want to do things where we can really collaborate in a meaningful way and have authorship." When I say "authorship," I don't want to be the sole leader or genius. To me, there is nothing worse than that, and I don't really believe in those things. I really believe in worthy collaborations and that's where I've been finding fulfillment lately.
Lively has daughters James, 7, Inez, 5, and Betty, 2, with her husband of 10 years, Ryan Reynolds.
