Princess Charlotte tries (but unsuccessfully!) to stop her brother Prince Louis from waving to her during a carriage procession.
It has long been a Cambridge lore that Princess Charlotte rules the "roost," and so it was at this morning's "Trooping the Colour" (brocade march).
It was, as PEOPLE put it, "the perfect big sister moment" for Charlotte (age 7) and Louis (age 4). Louis has long been an enthusiastic hand-waver, and who can forget his first appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping the Colour in 2019; in the official portrait from Louis' christening in 2018, Charlotte lovingly holds his hand and lovingly gazing at him (while everyone else smiles for the camera).
Today, brother Prince George, 8, Charlotte, and Louis all made their carriage procession debut, sitting across from their mothers, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Louis sat in the middle of George and Charlotte, and Charlotte and Louis waved enthusiastically to the assembled crowd until Charlotte took a break. Louis continued waving and stopped when Charlotte took his hand and placed it in her lap. Shortly after, however, Louis was undeterred and continued waving.
Louis appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the second time that day and made dozens of gestures and facial expressions throughout his time on the balcony, including standing beside the Queen and waving to the jubilant crowd and putting his hands over his ears to muffle the Royal Air Force's flight.
Cambridge kids, we love them!
