Meghan Markle's facialist talks about how she helped bring out her "natural glow" for Platinum Jubilee.
Let's take all the drama out of the past week, month, year, two years, and beyond and agree on at least one thing: Meghan Markle was (as always) beautiful at the Platinum Jubilee last weekend. We only saw her head-on during the four-day celebration, last Friday at Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral, but we were mesmerized by her radiance (even though we knew she had just traveled halfway around the world with a 1-year-old and 3-year-old in tow) and wondered how she could look so radiant! We wondered why she looked so radiant. [because Meghan's facialist, Sarah Chapman, opened up about how she helped Meghan shine during her increasingly infrequent public appearances. During her stay in the UK, Meghan made time to visit Chapman, who said she connected with the Duchess of Sussex and met Lili, per PEOPLE.
"Meghan and I loved chatting, and the opportunity to give her a good facial and make sure her skin continued to glow for all events was a great combination: a friendly catch-up and facial pampering," she said.
London-based Chapman described Meghan's skin as "healthy and glowing," but admitted that "traveling across continents and time zone changes can upset the skin and dehydration can be a common problem."
"Tell me how to combat it, pray tell," says Chapman, who says she used products containing vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, hydrating boosters, and Pep-8 serum to work against air travel dehydration.
"For Meghan, I wanted her beauty to glow at the event, so I accomplished that with lots of hydration, oils, and massage, and I also used LED light treatments," she says. In my clinic, we're constantly evolving our facials, bringing in the latest technology to address all skin concerns and medical dermatology treatments." But in the case of Meghan, all it takes to bring out her radiance are hands and good products."
Chapman says of the Duchess that she has a "natural, relaxed approach to beauty" and can "very easily go from formal and sophisticated to relaxed and casual and let her personality shine through."
And beyond the pampering of the facial, Chapman says she also enjoyed the friendly catch-up, saying, "For me, being able to catch up with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, meet the lovely Lilibet, and give Princess Meghan a facial to enhance her natural glow was It was wonderful. I always love to see my clients and friends shine at such wonderful events and I think she, along with many other familiar faces, looked so graceful and radiant during the celebration."
