Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly met with the Queen for only 15 minutes last weekend.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle apparently hit a brick wall trying to make peace with the royal family during their visit to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and it did not go as expected, "Marie Claire" reported yesterday.

Perhaps one of the highlights of the couple's stay in the UK was introducing one-year-old Lilibet Diana to her namesake, the Queen, at Windsor Castle (the Queen's family nickname is Lilibet).

However, as details of last weekend emerged, The Sun reported that the Sussexes and the Queen did not spend much time together.

"It was a quick in-and-out job," a source told the magazine. "It was all very formal."

"It was all very formal.

Indeed, the Queen's schedule was packed for the Platinum Jubilee, celebrating her historic 70th year on the throne. Thursday was filled with Trooping the Colour and the beacon lighting for the Jubilee. Friday was Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral. Saturday saw the Derby at Epsom Downs and the Platinum Party at the Palace, although again watched from Windsor Castle, followed by the Platinum Jubilee pageant on Sunday, the third and final balcony appearance of the weekend.

The Sussexes watched Trooping the Colors from the Major General's office on Thursday and attended the aforementioned Thanksgiving celebration on Friday to celebrate Lili's first birthday. As the royals say, all the diaries are quite full, and we know that the queen was in discomfort after Thursday's festivities.

Still, The Sun reported that "the pair were kept at a distance from senior royals during the Jubilee; they returned to California last Sunday before the celebrations were over, and Harry was soon back playing polo in his hometown."

The Sun also reported that "the Queen's mother, Harry, was in the midst of her own family's celebrations.

And in contrast to the photo of Her Majesty meeting Harry and Meghan's son Archie, born in May 2019, we have yet to see a photo of the moment Lilibet met Lili, however brief that may have been.
