Carole Middleton wears Kate Middleton's pink dress at Royal Ascot
Twin Wedding Alert Carole Middleton was spotted at the Royal Ascot horse races wearing a pink dress (at least the exact same model) by her daughter Kate Middleton.
The dress is a calf-length shirtdress in Barbie pink, the color of the summer of 2022 (I've been waiting for fashion to catch up with me...). It is two-tone, with a loud color in the front and a slightly more subdued bubblegum pink on the sides. It also has a bright pink belt. This dress is from ME+EM (opens in new tab), but unfortunately it is sold out.
Carol paired this statement piece with a lace black fascinator and a simple black clutch bag, while her husband Michael wore a morning dress and top hat.
The Duchess of Cambridge, for her part, wore this dress to meet young cancer patient Mira Sneddon in 2021.
The photo was taken as part of the "Hold Still" photography project, as Mira was facing leukemia and had to be shielded from her family. The Duchess spoke with the girl by phone during the pandemic and learned that her favorite color was pink.
"I'll definitely have to try to find a pink dress," she told Mira at the time."
"Someday, hopefully, Mira, we will meet, and then I will remember to wear a pink dress for you.
Happily, Kate was able to meet Mira in person in Scotland in May 2021, and of course chose this ME+EM number, and the then 5-year-old girl wore a princess dress and tiara.
The Duchess met Mira again last December at her carol service and also sent her a congratulatory message after she survived cancer earlier this year.
