Zara and Mike Tindall looked "very much in love" at Royal Ascot: Body Language Expert
Princess Anne's daughter Zara Tindall (née Phillips) and her husband Mike, a former England rugby player, look very happy and it is truly wonderful to witness.
The royal couple made an appearance at the Royal Ascot horse races on Thursday, June 16, and were full of smiles and loving gestures as they showed their bright side at the annual event. Zara, in a Laura Green coat dress, a fun green hat with a pink floral embellishment by Justin Bradley Hill, and metallic pink pumps by Karen Millen (opens in new tab) (from the Daily Mail), was even more fashionable than her royal contemporaries She has established herself as one of the royal family.
"There is no denying that Mike and Zara Tindall, who appeared at Royal Ascot (on Thursday), are very close," royal expert Darren Stanton told Marie Claire on behalf of Betfair Casino (opens in new tab).
"Zara was photographed putting her arm through her husband's and clutching it tightly. While such a gesture could be seen in a negative way, as a need for reassurance from Zara, the purity of her emotions here and the real happiness she is displaying suggest the opposite.
"Instead, Zara's grip on Mike's arm is subconsciously saying that they are a very strong team. Mike's smile is more subtle than his wife's, but it is still clear that he enjoys the praise and seems more than comfortable being in the middle of the front row representing the royal family.
According to experts, the two are super-synchronized.
"You will notice that the couple's postures match and mirror each other, and there is clearly a deep trust between Zara and Mike, with the duo often turning their bodies inward toward each other," Stanton adds.
"Even when they are not physically touching each other, there is a remarkable intimacy between them, showing that they have a strong connection and are more than happy to be in each other's personal space, even in public... The two have grown up being with each other and love each other very much. It is clear that they are a couple who thrive on being with each other and love each other very much."
However, this does not mean that everything is always smooth sailing for the royal couple. Mike has previously made that point clear.
"Marriages and long-term relationships are not always roses and rainbows," he said on British television in the fall.
"Having children is a huge shock and change that you've never experienced, and there's a steep road ahead.
"There are things thrown at you that test you both and your relationship. Neither of you is right and neither of you is wrong. You have to overcome it together.
It's very healthy.
