There's a reason the Queen reportedly spends so little time with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

New details have emerged about why Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children Archie, 3, and Lili, 1, were able to spend only a short time (reportedly about 15 minutes) with the Queen during the Platinum Jubilee weekend earlier this month.

According to Us Weekly, the brief visit at Windsor Castle had nothing to do with family tensions, but with the Queen's ongoing health concerns, particularly the physical mobility that has kept her absent from many of the Jubilee festivities, and other royal events on the recent calendar, such as Royal Ascot Among the problems, she said, was the need to preserve her fitness.

"She worked hard to maintain her fitness," royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti told Us." I think it's totally understandable that she was preserving her fitness as much as she could for all the events she wanted to attend if she could."

After the June 2 Trooping the Colors Parade and Flypast, Her Majesty the Queen made not one but two appearances on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, and the Sussexes brought their daughter Rivette Diana (named after the Queen's familial nickname) to Windsor Castle that evening. They reportedly brought her with them.

"Harry and Meghan visited the Queen at Windsor Castle with Lilibet and Archie," a source exclusively told Us about the meeting. And while there was speculation at the time that the brief visit was due to the recent drama surrounding the Sussexes, Sacerdoti does not think so.

"We are talking about people in their 90s and babies," he said, telling the magazine that Her Majesty had to conserve energy for the multitude of events taking place throughout the four-day event. We saw that Her Majesty made several public appearances."

After her discomfort at Thursday's Trooping the Colour, the queen was forced to miss many events on Friday and Saturday, and made a surprise third balcony appearance at the end of Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday. A source told Us that meeting Lili and her brother Archie "helped ease the queen's feelings about having to miss part of the festivities."

"After reluctantly withdrawing from the party at the palace (on Saturday), spending time with her great-grandchildren and watching Lilibet turn one added cheer to the queen's day," the official explained. She presented Lili and Archie with gifts."
