Friends of Prince William and Kate Middleton say rumors of dating troubles are completely unfounded.
All is well in the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Obviously, their status as royalty means that they will probably be scrutinized more than any other public figures in the world, and people's curiosity extends to their love life and the whiff of scandal that may accompany it.
However, if they have heard that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been having relationship problems lately, or if they are still bringing up the unconfirmed reports of an alleged affair between Prince William and Rose Hambly, the unnamed friends of the couple want to dispel such thoughts as soon as possible.
One of Will's friends told the Daily Mail's Rebecca English: "We're not going to let the media get away with this. Now let's get down to business!
The Cambridges are apparently super solid behind closed doors." They honestly couldn't be happier as a couple; you couldn't even put a cigarette paper between the two of them. They are very close and inseparable," the source added, somewhat cutely.
Another close friend described their ultra-normal marriage as something of a hashtag goal, to be fair.
"They spend all their time together. They eat lunch together every day and sit together every night watching TV," they said.
"Of course they go out and see their friends, but they spend so much time together and have a very conventional marriage."
There is a poignant reason that Prince William is very intentional about the marriage: he wants to avoid his parents' mistakes at all costs. Of course, Prince Charles and Princess Diana had a very unhappy marriage, and his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles eventually led to their divorce in 1996, just months before the Crown Princess's tragic death in 1997.
"When you talk to William, he is actually quite puritanical when he talks about his parents' marriage and how it didn't work out," one friend told the Mail.
"It has had a huge impact on the way he approaches himself about his relationship with Lady Catherine and why it took him so long to settle down. He wanted it to be with the right person and [that] it would last forever."
