Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen dedicated "F*** You" at Glastonbury.
Like many other celebrities and public figures, Olivia Rodrigo is not going to sit idly by as Roe v. Wade is overturned, making access to safe abortion infinitely more difficult for millions of people with uteruses across the country
at the Glastonbury Festival in England. and to vent her anger and grief, Rodrigo brought Lily Allen on stage.
As the British singer appeared beside her, Rodrigo told the audience, "Today is a very, very special day. This is actually my first Glastonbury, and I'm going to be sharing the stage with Lily.
The "Good 4 U" singer then shifted gears and expressed how upset she was about the Supreme Court decision. 'But I'm equally heartbroken by what happened yesterday in America. 'The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, a law that guarantees women the right to a safe abortion and other basic human rights. And I am devastated and horrified. So many women and so many girls are dying because of this."
Rodrigo continued. I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five justices of the Supreme Court. They showed us that at the end of the day, freedom really doesn't matter. This song is for Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, and Justice Brett Kavanaugh. We hate you."
Allen also responded, "We hate you."
The two women then launched into an angry, cathartic rendition of Allen's 2009 hit "F*** You."
The song is a rant about "F*** you (f*** you), f*** you very, very much / 'Cause we hate what you do / And we hate your whole crew" and "Do you get, do you get a little kick out of being small minded?" and was originally written as an anti-President Bush anthem.
The Glastonbury crowd happily shouted the lyrics while pointing fingers at the five judges.
The performance can be seen here.
