Prince William and Kate Middleton "looked like a young couple on their first date" at the Duke's polo match: body language expert

The British royal family does not always deliver the fairy tale that Hallmark and Anne Hathaway promised.

There was the difficult marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, followed by the divisive remarriage of the Prince to Camilla Parker-Bowles.

There was also the tight-knit union of the Queen and Prince Philip, which did not provide many, ahem, cutesy moments for us to envy.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear to be very much in love, but are struggling to be accepted by the office and the public. [and Prince William and Kate Middleton. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, while loved by almost everyone, consistently show deep love and affection for each other and remain faithful to their very British restraint in public.

Prince William's latest polo match is just one such example.

The Duke competed in the Royal Charity Polo Cup 2022 and took home the trophy. The Duke and Duchess shared a public kiss and a heartwarming PDA after 11 years of marriage and more than 20 years together.

Body language expert Judy James analyzed the moment the Duchess kissed the Duke after her victory and the gesture of affection that followed.

"At the beginning of the kiss, Kate throws her arms out to greet William and mimics the embrace with an expression of wanting to hug him, showing how she softens or tones down her body language in public," James told the Daily Mail.

"The gesture shows how normal a full hug is for the couple.

"Her legs are crossed at the ankles. This very girlish gesture suggests that she can still be frightened when her husband kisses her in public."

The Cambridges were also photographed walking off into the sunset (figuratively) with their arms around each other.

"They then walked away with their arms around each other's waists, like a young couple on a first date," the expert observed.

She commented on another moment, "The eye contact as they approach for a kiss. Such close eye contact at such close range indicates a very affectionate relationship."

"Kate's gaze extends to William's lips, which is a flirtatious gesture."

Forty years old, flirtatious and thriving Mrs. Cambridge, I see.
