Prince William and Kate Middleton Visit Boston for Earthshot Awards
We knew that Kate Middleton and Prince William were heading to the United States this year, but until now details were scarce.
In a new promotional video for the Earthshot Awards posted on their social media accounts, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that the event will take place in Boston this December.
In the beginning of the video, the Duke and Duchess say, "In 2022, we will bring Earthshots back to America and award the next five winners."
Then we cut to Red Sox player Xander Bogaerts on the pitch at Fenway Park, saying, "We will do it here in Boston." Nice stunt involving local athletes.
The Cambridges captioned the video, "@EarthshotPrize is back and heading to Boston this year."
"Five more winners. Game changing solutions. More possibilities to save our planet. Boston, see you in December #EarthshotBoston2022."
According to Us Weekly, the trip will be the couple's first return to the U.S. in eight years, and while the exact schedule is not yet known, it is unclear where they will be staying and whether they will be spending time with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! There is already much speculation about where they will be staying and whether or not they will make time to spend time with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The royal couple hosted the first Earthshot Awards in London in 2021. At this ceremony, £1 million will be awarded to a changemaker who proposes a solution to reverse climate change. The initiative's goal is to "protect and restore nature, clean the air, revive the oceans, build a trash-free world, and fix the climate" by 2030.
