Prince Harry "does not approve" of Princess Diana's portrayal in "The Crown," expert says.

[Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a multimillion-dollar deal with a streaming service. The streaming service offers The Crown, a show that details the (sometimes unflattering) inner workings of the royal family and its members. Season 4 introduced viewers to Princess Diana, played by Emma Colin, and Elizabeth Debicki will play the late Princess Diana in Season 5, which is scheduled to premiere later this year, but according to royal expert Tina Brown, Harry would "not approve" of the show's depiction of his beloved mother ...

"I don't think the next season of 'The Crown' will be anything that Harry would seriously approve of in terms of how his mother is portrayed," says Brown, according to The Daily Express. 'I don't know how his mother will be portrayed. But right now, nothing they like about their mother has come out."

Season 5 of the show will focus on the tragedy of Diana's death in a Paris car crash in her later years and in 1997. Debicki's appearance may make this season the most controversial yet.

Colin's portrayal of Diana earned the star an Emmy nomination, in which Diana's eating disorder and her relationship with the royal family were dissected. Brown says Harry, who admitted to watching parts of the show in a March 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, would be particularly uncomfortable with his mother's role in season five. She says that the royal family, other than Harry, is "very unhappy" with the way "The Crown" is progressing and is trying to sabotage filming whenever possible.

"Wherever possible, they are preventing the filming of 'The Crown' in places where they have influence," Brown says. "For example, [Eton College] refused to film, no doubt because they recognized William's feelings. So they showed their displeasure by making it clear that they weren't happy.

The fifth season of The Crown focused largely on the late 1990s, and the sixth season concludes the show in the early 21st century.
